Southern CA to Playa Del Carmen-November?

Novice cross country rider. Looking for anyone (individuals or group) heading through Mexico. Easy going, comfortable being out of my comfort zone (as long as I don't end up in a Mexican jail)!

Riding a 96 Honda 1100 ACE. 35k very good condition.

Researching everything to make intelligent decisions. Don't speak the language. Not sure how to pack for the trip. The adventure out ways my lack of experience.

Shoestring budget.

looking for fellow travelers

November start date. Heading south through Mexico at a casual pace looking to enjoy all that I can. Son is in Playa Del Carmen. Any company would be appreciated. Touring bike. Shoestring budget.

So. Cal to Baja to Copper Canyon and beyond, Oct./Nov. 2010

I and my brother are planning to ride from So. Ca. through Baja, ferry over to the mainland, ride Copper Canyon, then head south. We have four weeks, we ride fairly casually. I'm on a BMW F800 GS, he's on a KTM 990 Adventure R. We could probably be classified as intermediate dual-sport riders. We'd be looking to hook up with any other riders thinking of or planning to ride Baja and/or Mexico in this timeframe.

Smile Just came back!

Two friends and I just made a 5 week lap of Mexico with 6 days in Playa Del Carmen and a side trip to another nearby island besides Cozumel. Had a great time and no problems at all. You WILL enjoy your trip (EXCEPT for the topes) You can look at some pictures here if you like.

Hey Jeff, I'll be heading South then and would be happy to join up for some of the trip, though I plan to do a two week immersion course cause my Spanish is worse than bad.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
