Georgia July 2012. Caucasus off road

Hello from Spain. The plan for this summer is to ride some 3000 kilometres in Georgia, mainly offroad, targeting the Caucasus range. Another stage of the trip, though shorter, may involve visiting the Kaçkar mountains in North East Turkey.

The idea implies driving from Spain to Trabzon or Batumi carrying my bike on a light trailer, finding a friendly hotel to park my car and then it will be time to ride towards the mountains. My bike is a DRZ400E, by the way. I don’t mind riding solo, but if someone wants to join me or just give advice, leave a reply. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome.

Don't miss Kangal's famous pools with doctor fishes whick bite and clean your skin.Thats very close to Stone Road and Dark Canyon...
If you have 2 extra days Mount Nemrut is also a no miss place...Road of north entrance from Malatya is under construction this summer so take the south climbing entrance from Şanlıurfa..
You can watch wonderful sunset, have free camping at the top of the mountain among monuments of Komagene Gods then watch the sun rise...You will never forget the colors and natura you will see and meet...
If you are interested,Göbeklitepe is 18 km.east of Şanlıurfa.
Wish you all the best..

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
