Overland to Italy from India June 2009

Hi everybody, i'm planning to back to Italy by a royal enfield bullet 1964 model, this june. Unfortunatly, we was 3 people planning to go back and now travelling around India, but one of us left and the other is without money, as a result, i'm alone :-)

You can check our site, is in italian, and there is not much more then picture to see: Fool Power India - il Viaggio in India in moto di tre ragazzi toscani.

I hope the situation in Pakistan will be safe for that time and that at least another guy who have the passion for long adventure will contact me...

The route will be India from delhi move to Lahore border in Pakistan, all the way trough Baluchistan till reaching Iranian Border, cross Iran and then turkey... Common way.

The trip will last about: from 5 to 7 days for Pakistan, from 12 to 15-20 days in Iran, and ten days for Turkey.

But anyway i don't have to rush...

So thanks for reading and let me know something.

Ciao a tutti

Andrea

Pakistan

Hi Andrea Pakistan is dangerous but dooable. We did it 6 weeks ago. check situatin in news papers and cable TV in India before crossing. We crossed the border at Amritsar. Lahore stayed overnight in hotel, Lahore to Sukkur safe, stayed in PTDC hotel Sukkur. Sukkur to Quetta can be dangarous depends on the day, we asked for escort, Hotel will help. Stayed in Bloom Star hotel overnight in Quetta. Quetta can be dangerous once again depends on the day. Quetta to Taftan, the fallowing morning early start with escort for the first 200km or so, then you on your own. we did it in one day, if its not possible for you, stay overnight close to police check point half way or so to Taftan, check points every 100km or so. Try to make Taftan by 3 pm as the border closes at 4pm Try not to stay in Taftan overnight. PS smile and wave a lot if you dont get a wave or a smile back, 9 out of 10 it's a Talib! keep away!!! I have agood reason for saying so, good luck. Kenski

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
