France early August

I'm of to France on the 2nd/3rd August, heading for Bordeaux eventually to visit friends. I'm planning on spending a few days South of Clermont Ferrand taking in the Tarn valley/Millau Viaduct area. I ride a DL1000 and apart from blatting through northern France (reminds me too much of the UK!) I'm looking to stay on quiter roads and riding at a more gentle pace.

I'd appreciate any recommendations of good roads and cheap (ish) places to stay. I'm too old to camp!! (48)

If you are going to be around that part of the world and would like to hook up please shout, or if you want to come along for the ride that would be great too!

Too old :) Hmm there is hope for me yet.
There is a really good Chambres D'hote ( B&B) in Estissac, run by a lady witha polish name... There is only one BnB in the village...just up from the pizza shop.

north of france is indeed mostly nothing special, but the champagne region south of Chalons en Champagne is quite nice. Its quite east, away from the UK and usually not on your way home. If you have some time, check it out.
