France
My wife and I will be touring through france for a week at the end of August. Would love to hear from others who can point out some good spots to vist and offer some tips. We want to keep away from the main centers and keep daily distances to 3-400km max
Cheers |

Hi,
France is a nice area to drive around. Just stick to the "route national" (N-roads) and you'll enjoy small towns, great views and friendly people. Really nice on the bike are the Alps (ofcourse), the ardeche and the vosges. Not very interesting (imho) is the south-west. it's flat with pine-tree's. The center-south and south east (even the cote d'azur) are realy nice, but for camping stay 50 Km from the costline. I alway's used to go down (north to south) on route national 7. It's in the center, going along Reims, Troyes, Chalons, Nevers, Clermont-ferrant (don't mis puy de dome), Le Puy, Mende and then into the ardech-valey toward aubenas. (old volcanic rock) Then you can head west towards Auvergne and Dordogne, and maybe south towards Albi. It's great. You'll love it! have fun Maarten ------------------ - www.maartensworld.tmfweb.nl - |
