Entering Mexico border @ Brownsville, TX and beyond...
 

¡Hola!

I'm currently on route to TDF from A2, Michigan. Presently, I'm in Austin scheduled to arrive in Brownsville before the weekend (~12-4-09). The plan is to crash in Brownsville for the night, then ride into Mexico as far as possible... I'm thinking Tampico will do the trick. If anyone in the area is up for a ride across the border and into Mexico, I'd greatly appreciate the company. Alternatively, if there are any other travelers with the same planned point of entry and route along the Gulf coast, please let me know and maybe we can work something out. I'd also be willing to ride with y'all further into Mexico and beyond; my schedule is pretty flexible. Finally, if anyone else has done this in the past and can recommend a safe and affordable hotel/motel in Brownsville that's welcoming to riders, please pass that information along.

Victor, I don't know if this info is of any use but I can recommend the Red Rose Inn Best Western. Spent a couple of nights there about 3 years ago. Clean, moderately priced.

I will be flying to Corpus Christi(bike location) on the 7th crossing on the 8th. I might catch up.
