DR Congo (Lubumbashi) mid-Jan
 

I will be in Ndola, Zambia around 16 January heading to Lubumbashi and on to Kinshasa.

Anyone around for a beer or a road-trip, please let me know.

From Kinshasa I'm heading to Europe up the west coast, travelling fairly quickly.

Hi Dave,

Are you actually aware of the state of the "road" between Lubumbashi and Kinsasha (even more as you will be there full in the rainy season). I do not know anybody who achieved this leg in less than 4 weeks (for 2,000 k).

Even Northern and Western Zam won't be that easy, unless you stick to the tar. Probably more info on www.4x4community.co.za, Zambia section (you won't find tar everywhere - in the part of the DRC you intend to cross, they don't know what tar means..).

yes, i have a good idea what to expect. i've met a few people who made it in 2-3 weeks. i'm planning 4 weeks.
