Delhi to Leh Oct/Nov 2012
I'm hoping to travel from New Delhi to Leh mid October.
Returning to Delhi mid Novemberish. Dates so far are flexible. Traveling solo with dog but would welcome company on the journey north and south. Catherine

It'll be cold !
Having lived in Bangalore for 6 years . . .
It'll be quite cool to downright cold. By Manali you'll be all dressed up in your warm things. The road to Leh . . . you'll just need to take care and be on the watch for ice on the road. There certainly won't be alot of tourists ! December is even quieter.

I did that journey two years ago. The road to Leh closes due to snow usually in Oct. It's real cold up there in winter. Good luck.

Catherine,
Comercial tour operators usually stop doing this ride by the end of August. Just keep it in mind, from Menali onwards, things change. Cheers MR

Hi Cathrine,
best forget it this year, it´s to late now. I did it last year in october; to ride up is possible till about mid october but then the snow sets in and you wont get back. cheers rux
