Colorado to Alaska

Howdy folks!
I'm attempting the pan-American dream but my riding partner won't be able to meet me until I get to California. I still want to ride to Alaska and will do it alone if I have to but always enjoy company on a venture of any nature.

I depart September 2nd from north Colorado and will head directly north to Montana (I want to see Glacier National Park again) and then I'm up for suggestions on the best route to get to Alaska from there.

Anyway, just wanted to throw that out there, hope that somebody might join me for a leg of the journey

Reconsideration

After speaking with an Alaskan native, I've decided to leave a little earlier (to avoid snow) and will leave for Alaska mid August

Let me know if you're interested!

Good luck on your trip! I went last year for a month and had a blast. If you don't find a partner, no worries, you'll meet plenty of folks along the way..

Some I rode with in Brasil and I should be leaving California or Nevada to Deadhorse, AK in June. I heard the weather has less rain before Sept. Some main highways just close when there is too much rain?

Here is the weather planner but just up to Fairbanks: Alaska Temperatures and Rainfall | Compare Alaska to Your Hometown

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
