another rider?

I am also heading down the 1 from Redding, Ca but in November around the middle of the month, and also the same plan generally speaking, Ive been down the 1 as a boy with my father on a few camp trips, and that's partly why Im going down there to revisit some familiar spots as well as new ones everywhere else. I have a lot of interest in Ecuador as a final. But Ill get to that bridge, then cross it.
My spanish is rather weak, but I am going to start some classes online soon.

I have an old beater cx500 Ive gotten on the cheap and put some money on top of, its a nice comfy riding thing, and if it makes well great! If not then I can either sell, if legal? or fix it. Or abandon and take a plane or buses.. anyway trying to be flexible.. I'll have camping gear as well, and try other cheap places, hostels, ect.. apartment if I feel like staying longer somewhere.

anyway if I see's you cool, and if not hopefully I can read all about your journey as I head behind you and avoid all of the headaches you will undoubtably encounter, good luck and have a wonderful time!

Robert from Redding, ca

Hi all,

I posted a few times before.....................I will be at or near TJ border on or around Nov 4.

Sooooo..............around that time anybody ready to enter Mexico with plans on traveling down Baja then to Panama and catching sailboat to Columbia let me know ! (final destination TDF)

Of course if you let me know NOW we can make plans ahead of time ! (But for some it will probably only happen near the actual time, so put my email in a safe place until then !) (onleeemeee@yahoo.com)

Are you thinking of crossing at Brownsville/Matamoros? My husband and I have been thinking of that crossing as well. We are in Arizona currently but ultimately want to end up in the Yucatan area so are thinking of blasting through Texas and heading down the east coast of Mexico. We are still a little unsure about some of our plans but would love to meet up with other riders if it works out.

cheers,
Katie

Hi guys,

I'm planning a trip sometime around the end of November to the beginning of December. I want to ride through the Copper Canyon and also ride the Devil's Backbone. I'm in California, so I can cross the border any where in California or Arizona.

If anyone will be crossing in that time frame, and would like to ride to the Copper Canyon let me know.

In October I rode out to LA from Chicago, and then down baja, DF, Oaxaca, out to Belize, and then down to Nicaragua. Mostly staying in hostels, but a bit of roadside camping along the way as well. So if you have any questions, drop me a line. I can recommend quite a few good hostels with parking for bikes.

Hey Karl-
Would much appreciate any advise you have on hostels etc...can you post it here so folks can access it easily?
Many thanks,
James.
