Hi Bossit,
To meet some good folks and get great info on riding in Thailand, Laos, etc, head over to the "KAFE" restaurant inside the moat near the thaipae gate. Quite a few "big bike" riders hang out there. Ask for David Unkovitch, he has literally writen the book on riding in Thailand...

Hi!
We were in Chiang Mai (Red/White Land Rover 6x6) on the 31st. Sorry we missed both you and the white Land Rover. Right now we are in Chiang Kong about to cross the border tomorrow morning (3 Feb) to Laos. Let us know if you're heading this way, we'd love to meet up.

Hi Bossit,

I have just returned from a month in Thailand. I travelled - unfortunately on 4 wheels - from Mae Sot to Mae Seriang to Mae Hong Son and then across to Chiang Mai (excuse spelling I can't find my map).

Anyway, the road up to Mae Hong Son has over 1800 of the most perfect corners I have ever seen and the traffic is light. I was drooling and wishing I had my bike.

I thought you might like to know, I will be back there sometime for sure, it's worth the ride!

The other biker friendly place in Chiang Mai is Jonadda Guest House, a few doors down from the Eagle Guest House. It is run by an Australian called John Nash who is a mad biker and knows everything there is to know about bikes in the area. (his guest house has the best hot water showers as a bonus...)

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
