Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events such as this one (18 this year!); we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, the HUBB or
to receive the e-zine. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and

My memories of touring South America and Africa are starting to fade so need another dose of all that. I have no real interest in going from Capetown to Europe as the north and west do not appeal to me so much. Also this leaves me the option of buying a bike in the 650 cc range and selling it there again on return, flying in and out of JoBurg from Canada on a return ticket. I have not yet ruled out taking my R100GS, that took me through South America, but a smaller bike I can buy in SA is calling out to me.
My route would be SA, Zim, some Moz, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Zambia, Angola, Namibia, Sa... There is a possibility of side trips to Ethiopia, Sudan, and/or Cameroon. I have been to most of these places but happy to return and happy to see the others.
I am looking at departing Canada mid-September for at least a 3 month trip, could become 5.
