Cape Town to Johannesburg via Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, starting Sep 27, 2010
Later this month I will go on a trip from Cape Town to Johannesburg via Namibia (Windhoek, walvis Bay, Etosha), Botswana (Chobe), Zimbabwe (Victoria Falls, Lake Kariba, Bulawayo).
I will take part in the Cape Adventure Bike Challenge (Cape Adventure Bike Challenge), September 23-26, near Ladismith in the Karoo, and from there - with one or two nights in Cape Town - I will start my way to Johannesburg, where I have to be back by Octobe 10. I am riding a BMW 1150 GS Adventure, and I am planning to both camp and stay in hotels and lodges. Route of the trip: Cape Town - N7 north - Richterveld National Park/Namibia - Lüderitz - Keetmanshoop - Windhoek - Walvis Bay - Hentiesbaai - Etosha - Rundu - Maun/Botswana - Victoria Falls/Zimbabwe - Mbisi-Kariba Ferry (optional) - Harare - Bulawayo - Gabarone/Botswana OR Beitbridge - Johannesburg Anyone keen to join for full trip or parts please contact me asap.
