Cape Town to England, Start April 2005.

I'm going to buy a bike in Cape Town and ride up to Manchester England starting in April 2005. My general route in Africa will be via Namibia, across to east coast, up east coast to Sudan, across to west coast, up west coast to Morocco.

should be fun! what sort of bike are you getting and what's your riding and maintenance like? are you staying on tar or going off road? try to avoid the rains if you're planning on unmade stuff such as northern kenya. you'd best check, but it looked like it had rained in Sept when I came through late Oct. Sudan will be sandy and you'll need a heavy duty carnet if you're going through Egypt - 500% bond! then you'll have to find a way across or around the Med - others have been wrestling with this of late!
