Hi Mojo, what were the extra costs with the bike, registration, tax etc? And how long does it take to get title before you can set off out of state? I'm hiring from AZride this year but would like to buy for next year and leave it with family when I'm not there. I hope everything goes smoothly. Have fun.

Bike costs & Title.

Hi Doc,

I bought a new KLR650 & managed to get an out the door price of $5081. I found a straight talking dealer with no nonsense & quite straight up so went with him even though he was out in Apache Junction (about 20 miles)

The breakdown of costs were:
Bike $4436
Tax $371
License Fee $125
Documentation Fee $150
The title will take 20 - 30 days to arrive at the registered address. I have a temporary tittle & plate which is fine to travel all over the US but I cannot take the bike out of the US till it arrives. Not an issue with me as I plan on touring the US for a few months before I head south.

When are you planning on getting over here to Phoenix & what bike are you planning on buying? Hope this info helps & if you need anymore info regarding insurance or accesories then please PM me.

Cheers Mojo

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
