quebec to central america december-march

im planning a trip down in mexico-guatemala and who knows..... on a 12oo gs for this winter , around december -march bahh im not really planning anything , just thinking about it.
i was supposed to ride down to the canal with my dad and he let me down, a friend wanted to come along to and he let me down too.
now im not sure what im doing for the winter but i surely would like to hook up with someone who is thinking about riding down there,

it could be for the way down only, part of the trip or the whole trip. 2-4 months. im used to travel in latin america, been in many countries, i speak spanish allright, been in mexico before (4 months not on a bike)
if your thinking about heading south, dont be shy, drop me a line

David 1200 gs 2005 30 000 km on it, good maintenance done on it

Hey Coors, Posted much the same on another Toronto to CA/SA thread but maybe others are looking here:

I'm in Toronto planning on leaving for Mexico and Central America and likely South America after that. Leaving Nov 17th most likely. Looking to see the sites+culture, ride in mountains and light dirt trails, camp quite often, mostly avoid the larger cities (other than Mexico City to see some friends) and probably Puerto Vallarta. I'm familiar with non-bike travel in Mexico (3 months) and Nicaragua and speak passable Spanish.

If you or anyone else is interested in meeting up en-route I'd be happy to hear from you. My plans are to go where ever seems right next - not to be too fixed and too have fun. I'm on a KLR650.

cheers
James.

Hi Coors
I am heading out for Mexico and south onwards from mid-December. I could get delayed to January though. I positioned my BMW R100GS in Florida in Sept. but will be leaving again from Nova Scotia. I want to go at least to Colombia and maybe to Argentina, my dream is to ship bike to South Africa to do some more riding there.
Let's keep in touch larrynunavut@hotmail.com I am in Kenya till Dec. 5

David

Last year I rode from Calgary to Guatemala Feb26 to April 20, I was planning to get to Panama but had to return for family reasons, so this year I will be leaving again the end of Feb. to try again for Yaviza. I rode the bike to Phoinex on Oct. 1 and stored it there. If you are down south around that time we could hook up, I know Guatemala pretty well as I have worked and travelled the country with Habitat for Humanity. You need to ride to Semuc Champey near Coban!!!

Hi Coors (and other likeminded souls in this thread)
My bike is in Florida positioned for my getaway from Nova Scotia in Dec/Jan. I get home to Nova Scotia from Kenya early Dec. then have a few things to attend to.
Larry (R100GS) Have done some riding in Africa and SE Asia but not in Mexico or beyond

SW stop

Coors,
I'm in the Texas Hill Country now and will be in the Southwest on and off (Texas to Arizona) during the winter as I have my pickup + RV and my BMW GSA....hoping to get some 2-3 week trips in during that time...maybe some Mexico time.
Feel free to contact me when you are this way and maybe we can ride some or at least give you a place to park and a cold one.
Adam
