Leaving for Mongolia in the next 10 days

We will be heading for Mongolia at the end of April or as soon as our Russian visa is through. We re travelling by 80 Series Landcruser with roof tent etc.

After a mad dash across Germany etc. we plan to rest up for a couple of weeks in Romania after the madness of organising everything at the same time as paccking up the house to let it. Then head across southern Ukrane and through Russia and Siberia to Mongolia (and then back via the Stans and Turkey (croissing the Black Sea from Russia). We will be taking time out en route as we do not plan to be back until Christmas.

If anyone is interested in hooking up in Romania and perhaps travelling across Ukrane together, or possibly hooking later in the trip (e.g. Mongolia in September to travel together through Kazakhstan) please let us know.

We are kitted out with winch etc. but would be good to travel with another in the more remote parts.

Mick & Chris

I am currently in Barnaul. Is anyone around to make/join the entry to Mongolia via Tsagaannuur within the next days or within a week's time?
Best regards
Holger

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
