Brasil, Manaus - Humaita

In about 3 weeks i will take the road from Manaus south to Humaita and on to Porto Velho. From there via Assis into Peru!
I know the road Manaus Humaita is an horrible one, but i will try it!
There is allways a way through!

If somebody wants to enjoy the ride he is welcome, otherwise i will go on my own again!

Albert,
Please post your experiences on those routes.

You will find them on Smellybiker under smellybikerforum, "AppieĀ“s Travels"

There is also information about the Transamazonica, Guayara Mirim - La Paz an Santa Cruz - Corumba if you interested in the off road stuff! I was riding there in 2006!

BR 319 Manaus - Humaita is done again!

Yes i made it down to Porto Velho!
Tooked me 2 1/2 days and 1 night in the jungle for the 970km,
350km are realy bad, one hole on to the next!
12 hours drivingtime for those 350km,
faster is nearly not possible or you will destroy your bike in one of those big holes. It is nearly all the way old broken asphalt,
an horrible ride but a great adventure and a big challenge!
In the wet season you will not get through!
It is absolutely nothing for unexperienced off road drivers,
they will hate themself for going on that road!!!
I will post the ride on my webside, will just take about a week or two!
It is a hard take for your bike, both of my forksealings went as well!
But that was just a question of time!

I am happy to be in Porto Velho for the weekend!

Planning the reverse route of that, wondering what the fuel situation was like? Also do you have any info on the road from Manaus to Boa Vista?

You can get patrol 114km from Humaita and at the point where you have to take the first ferry when you go north (280km from Manaus)! Small private houses. At this rivercrossing there is also a Pousada!
110km before Manaus there is the first petrolstation!

Manaus - Boa Vista is paved, some holes in the road, but mostly you can get around them!

Good luck Appie!
