Bottom to Top - South and Central America
 

Hi, Me and one other friend are trying to plan a ride from patagonia to mexico starting in November (or thereabouts). We would like to go through the following countries if possible:

• Argentina
• Chile
• Brazil
• Peru
• Uruguay
• Bolivia
• Venezuela
• Cuba (?)
• Mexico

We realise it may be a bit of a problem to include Cuba but we would like to include it.

If anyone has any route ideas, general information on bike repairs or what is a suitable bike to buy in Chile, as we are looking to buy a bike when we get out there. Any information on papers, insurance, visas, export licences etc. would be welcomed. What equipment should we bring or what stuff we should get once we are out there.

We are inexperienced bikers and do not have a licence yet! It would also be useful to get some idea of the timescale, we would like to take around four months if that is realistic.

We live in the UK, so any advice on flights to chile or argentina (cheapest) would be great.

Mi, that's a big question to be answered. As you're already a member here I'd suggest you keep on reading on the hubb and you'll find plenty of your questions aswered. Also, do a try out on a shorter trip in the UK or around europe or something before you head off to do the big thing. Your butt may not stand that much abuse.
