London -> Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary...

Hi,

I'm off in about 2 weeks time (dates are not set in stone), approx April 24, from London, through France (La Rochelle, Angouleme), Andorra, Spain (Barcelona, Tarragona), Italy (Milan, Rome), Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Austria, Germany... finishing back in the UK after about 6 weeks or so.

Is anyone interesting in meeting up along the way, or riding as a group for a stretch? I'm on a KLR650, so I'll be on national routes rather than motorways, and will be camping where possible. I speak English, a little French, and ok Spanish, but don't have any Greek, Bulgarian, Romanian, Hungarian, or Russian, and very little German and Italian.

Hi Phoenix,
Bit early for us, but the timing is close and some of the route is the same!

We weren't planning at this late stage to return from Turkey via Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary. Our plan was to ride back from Turkey's west coast across the top of Greece (910 km) and catch the ferry to Venice from Igoumenitsa (962 km).

I'm starting a similar trip in early may though i'm planning more time in Eastern Europe (but i'm flexible) an will be free camping mostly and a
Campsite every few days once the smell gets too bad

It would be great to meet up for a and maybe do some travelling together if we happen to be in the same area.

Hi there easyroller.

Given that I'm leaving about 2 weeks before you, but heading via Spain, then back up through France and Italy to Greece, then Bulgaria, etc, our trajectories could definitely coincide at some point alright.. keep your eyes open for a green / purple Kawasaki KLR with a black tank bag, smoked Givi screen, ally boxes, and a Givi back box.

A camping and buddy is always welcome along the way. It's always easier (and safer) to do free camping when there is a group!

Where do you plan on camping, by the way? I hadn't really thought too much about that just yet.
