Best ways to find a traveling partner.

I'm new both to this thread, and to trying to find a traveling partner. I hope to see as much of the USA as I can in the next few years. The last couple of years, I have ridden 17000 miles traveling, and all of it by myself. I'm thanking it might be more fun to have someone, to slow me down, and look at thing differently, so that I can see and experience more, on the road. Most of the people that I know, that ride, when they travel, do it first class. I need to travel on a budget.

I'm guessing most of you have been doing this for years. I can use all the help that I can get. Suggestions of other, or better web sits, I read that Crag's list might be a way to go. Any means to find a like minded traveling partner, well be greatly appreciated.

Good travelling partners ae like girlfriends, if you go 'looking' for one you tend to end up with none or the wrong one completely, which is worse!!

When you find them, you'll know!

Agree 100% with Henry!

Why not try contacting HU communities in the areas you want to visit and hook up with other like minded folk, stay a few days and do some local riding then move on.

I should not mention the evil empire (adventure riders)

ADVrider - Powered by vBulletin

They have over 158,000 menbers. Look in the regional section, or travel planning section.

Yeah !! The only people you should travel with are old friends or girlfriends who you KNOW you get on with..

Making a long commitment with someone you hardly know is asking for trouble (trust me).

Its best just to make SHORT commitments like one city to another etc and then if your plans and personalities match, keep on going together. Never be afraid of going your own way or saying you want some time alone.

You will meet plenty of people on the road and you will just end up travelling with like minded people.

Some one you can trust and has the same out look as your self. Is more or less like gold dust. I have been doing this for a few year's now, and know my way around. Usually you find someone who has ridden alone and the decides to hook up with another rider who is posting for a companion to go with. Unless there is give and take with both people most plans fall apart. Get an idea together, make a map up in Google map's, Post where you would like to go with a time scale and a rough time date. Then post that round the net. You may be lucky.

I wish you luck in your search. You may be lucky in finding what you are looking for.
