Azerbaijan anyone?

If there is anyone in the neighborhood that would like to tour Azerbaijan in the coming weeks let me know. I've got a week off (October 12-21), a borrowed bike and am looking for company. Email is the best way to get in touch.

Cheers
Susan

Azebaijan

Interested indeed. I have free time over that period but i wonder how i could get all the visas to get there in such a short period of time. Plus the time to get there...it seems to be quite a challenge..

Already there!

Am in Azerbaijan at the moment. Was thinking of leaving in a couple of days due to overstaying the visa for my bike. My personal visa is ok, so I guess the question is, Are you already here? or coming and or interested in catching up.

Location - Baku.

Seen - very little

direction (eventually) - Iran

Azerbaijan Visa($100 US Citizen) can be picked up in Istanbul same day...good luck finding the consulate though...its right off the Subway...if you need, PM for directions.

It can also be picked up in Tbilisi next day...Georgia doesn't require visa for US citizens...

NOW the foreign registered vehicle entry is a bit dodgy, as they will ask for a deposit at the border, OR require you to park it at Customs within three days of arrival, IF you come from the main gateway from Georgia. There is another entrance in Northern Georgia that will grant you 10 days time in Azerbaijan, that my fellow travellers used as we were en route to Turkmenistan.

I'm not convinced there's ANYTHING worth seeing considering the hassle entering Azerbaijan...I personally would spend the time in Georgia...BUT if you must, bonne chance.

Azerbaijan is beautiful!

Luckily I didn't have to mess with boarder issues since the bike and I are already in country. But I have to say that I have seen some incredible scenery since I have been here and the people have been fantastic. You just have to get off the main roads.

I haven't been to Georgia yet and I understand it is spectacular, but little Azerbaijan has a lot to offer as well.

Cheers
Sue

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
