Australia to UK via India/KKH/Central Asia etc

Greetings all,

Just a quick post to say I will be leaving Australia on 16th May for my overland trip from Kathmandu to London. I plan to be in London in late September or early October. I will be riding my 1992 R100GS P/D. May meet up with some of you along the way.

Cheers,
Brian

Hi Anne,

If you're anywhere near Eastern Europe in September, maybe we can meet up.

Have a fantastic trip.

Cheers,
Brian

Should be arriving Azerbaijan or Turkey by end of September - how far Eastern Europe are you talking Brian. We will head through Azerbaijan, Armenia and then into Turkey for a month - the Dalmation Coast towards mid end oct - to be ready to leave Spain by end November - to arrive back at work beginning of December.......

Thanks Pirate63 - I am at the moment at the terrified stage - I thought it was a good idea a couple of years ago .....

Brian I will keep my eyes open for your blog and see if we do not run into each other somewhere over there.

Anne

Hi Anne,

Looks like our paths won't cross. I plan to be in Turkey mid/late August and then up through Bulgaria/Romania, then Hungary etc over to London.

What sort of bike are you riding?

Have a safe trip.
Cheers,
Brian

In Kathmandu at last!

Finally in Kathmandu. Just waiting to get the bike out of the airport. My blog site is up and running. Will post address here soon. This is my first attempt at blogging so it is fairly amateurish. Will be in Nepal for 5-6 days then head into India and Pakistan, then KKH and China.

Cheers to all.

Update

After spending about a week in Nepal looking around and a making a quick dash across India, I'm finally in Lahore. Will be heading for Islamabad soon to pick up the next batch of visas. Heading up the KKH in mid/late June to cross into China in early July. Then through Central Asia to Iran and Turkey in mid-July to August.

Anybody else in the general area at that time?

Cheers,
Brian

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
