Australia to London 2014

Hi, we are shipping our Toyota Landcruiser to Kuala Lumpur January 2014 then heading to Thailand,Laos then entering China beginning of May 2014. We plan to enter China at Mohan drive to Tibet then leave via Kashgar into Kyrgyzstan. We are hoping to find others heading the same way to share fun and the costs through China.

We look forward to hearing from anyone heading this way.

Simon and Catherine

Laos - China - Nepal

G'day Simon & Catherine,

Doesn't appear to be many overlander's travelling East to West keen to ride / drive through China, I suppose it's all about timing.

China sounds great, and the more I read about China the more I want to ride through China.

I am in Timor Leste about to head off through Indonesia, and would like to ride Laos - China - Nepal. Just thought I'd ask you seeing you mentioned Tibet. Without putting you out / changing your plans etc, is my plan to exit Zhanghu China / Nepal something that could be incorporated into your travels.

If not, I assume you have had contact with a company re your travels, can you provide a company name so I can get an idea of costs should I choose to go it alone.

Cheers,

Mick

might see you somewhere

Hi guys, my partner and I are heading from vladivostok to Mongolia and Khazakstan and so on, detouring along the Pamir hwy.

We looked at China but couldn't make it work for us when we started our planning, Im sure you will have some great stories with the route you are taking, sounds great..

We will be somewhere around kyrgyzstan mid June, its pretty open as I am sure your planning is!!

Anyway it sounds like we might be in similar areas at the same time so maybe we will be able to meet up..

We are leaving from Perth..

Cheers for now Justin and Jenn

might see you somewhere

Hi Justin and Penn
Sounds like we will be in Krygyzstan/Kazakhstan at a similar time so it would be great to stay in touch and potentially meet up if timings are favourable. We are Perth based too, have you left yet? Are you biking? We will be in a 4WD, leaving mid January.
Enjoy!

Hi again, we are travelling in a nissan patrol! We are not leaving Perth until the 10th of April, should be entering Khazakstan roughly early june and down towards the pamir hwy. Only a guide as far as dates go, we are organising our Khazakstan visa for June other than that we are flexible.

I see it's not long until you head off, but if you would like to touch base before you go we could do that.

I will send you a private message with our email and contacts.

All the best justin and jenn....

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
