Smile Australia by Motorbike

I am thinking of doing a trip around Australia or at least travel a major part of it on my BMW G650GS. I live in New South Wales about 90 kms North of Newcastle (ie 250km North of Sydney).
I came to Australia some 40 years ago from Germany. I am thinking of being about 4 to 8 weeks on the road, taking it easy and staying at caravan parks and anywhere else.
I am over 60 and fit enough to ride motorbikes on and off road and my horses which I have ridden 100's of kms across the country.
I would prefer doing the trip with one or two fellow bike riders but will go anyway.
Wherever you may come from, just get in touch with me if you are interested, from.
Regards
Alwin

Cape York

Hi Alwyn,

Myself and 3 others on F650s are flying over from NZ departing Brisbane about 23 August 2010 and heading to Cape York and back to Brisbane late September. You are welcome to join us if you wish.

regards Mark.

Hi Mark,
Many thanks for your invite to join you and your mates. I have just come back from my trip up to the tip of Cape York and then across to Darwin and back via Tenant Creek, Alice Springs and home via Adelaide, etc. All this on my own, got a bit lonely at times, although I met a few other "lone ranger bikers" on the way. No problems with the bike but would have been nice to go in company. Have just read your message now and really appreciate your gracious gesture. Hope you had a great time doing your OZ trip.
Thanks again
Alwin

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
