Aus to UK 2014
 

Hi,

I'm a 24y/o, 6'7 Australian guy with a modified DRZ400S - and in Feb of next year I'm planning to ride around the world.

The plan is an overland trip from Melbourne, Aus to London, UK.
Heading up to Darwin before shipping the bike across to East Timor mid Feb and island hopping to Malaysia. Then going to ride overland the rest of the way through Thailand, Myanmar (hopefully), India, Pakistan, Iran etc.

So far I'm going solo but would like to travel with people for part of the way.

I'd be happy to hear from anyone heading the same way or wanting to join me for some of the journey.

Hi tim, I'm from melbourne. Have you thought about doing the trip in reverse? We're shipping to london and will start our ride home to melbourne there. Leaving in April. Riding DR650 2-up

Which way are you going Oli?

UK to Oz. However we started in May 2013 and are in Cambodia now.. but our planned route is to head in to Laos, enter northern Thailand, ride down, enter Malaysia probably early March and Indonesia early April.. so if you're coming the other way might see some folks :)

Thanks Jaykay, it's a tempting offer but they're something about departing from home which I like. Besides, if I make it to the UK and I'm still in good condition I'll likely continue to either the US or Africa.

Just confirming shipping dates now and at this rate I'll be arriving in Dili late Feb, so hopefully I'll see you all on the road.

Hey Mate I'm planning a UK - USA - Australia - Thailand - etc ect - UK leaving March time ... Oddly enough I just bought a DRZ400s and I'm 6'4" and 23 years old! ... couldn't be happier :D Really hope your trip goes to plan and please could you share as much info as possible as you are doing what I will be doing after I've stopped for a working year in Aus!! You may have seen my threat of Vladivostok to Eur starting from Vlad in june
No takers thus far. The same as your experience is that everyone seems to come from Europe. Would you consider to the Vlad trip. I am riding a F650 BMW. I am 6'2 and a bit older then you. Some years ago I completed India to Eur. Feb 10 I will be doing another Vietnam-laos trip en in April south Africa. The 650 needs to be shipped in may for a start around june1

Hi Tim,

I've been doing a pretty similar trip to you so far too on my DR650, Wagga - Darwin - Singapore, Bangkok to Kathmandu.

I am waiting on mail and cruising around Nepal for the rest of this month, Nth India next month and crossing Pakistan and Iran in September.

Maybe I'l run into you along the way if you in this neck of the woods at the same time as me.

I'm an Aussie currently based in the middle east. I'm doing a shorter trip just around Europe. Will arrive in athens late August. I want to make to Nordkapp, Italian/Swiss Alps, UK and back to Athens. I'm taking 4 months. Leaving a bit late maybe for Nordkapp, but thats now going to be part of the adventure.

When will you get to Europe? Any chance we'll cross over at some point?
