Argentina to Central America

Hi, Tony from Australia here. I am in Rosario, Argentina now. Will be looking to go north to the Iguazu Falls then west across to Bolivia, Peru etc. Havent got a visa for Paraguay yet so if i cant get one near the falls I will be coming back across Argentina. Looking to meet up and travel some parts with anybody. would be good to have someone to talk to as well. I shipped my bike to BA and started less than one week ago so any information on hotels which are bike friendly along the way would be great also.
cheers

Hey Tony, I’m in Puerto Natales waiting for the ferry to Puerto Montt. Then I would be heading over to BA. Not sure yet how I’m returning to the US, ship from BA or ride back north, but if you are looking for hotel info I have a list of a lot of the hotels I stated in at
Adventure-POI

Hi Jeff, did you end up shipping from BA or are you riding north through Brazil and taking a boat ride to Amazon before motoring (from Manaus?) into Venezuala and on to Colombia? I am trying to decide which option suits me best so would like to hear from you man.

Larry (in Cordoba)

Hi Larry,

In the end I decided to ship from BA. Bike left yesterday to the US. It was a tough call but there is enough inS.A. that I still want to see so another trip will be in the works.

yeah I see your thinking. Would have been nice to ride up through Brazil though, Amazon Belem to Manaus and ride up to Venezuala and on to Colombia, and ship from there. Actually I am in Cordoba holing up a for a couple days letting my body mend from a spill few days back in Bolivia, dirt road in mountains...nothing serious but sore leg, battered ribs, pulled muscle in back from getting loaded bike upright again by myself. Bike suffered broken mirror and windshield...all else ok.
Take it easy Jeff.

Cheers
Larry

Don't you mean, "and ride home from there?"

(From Brasil, on the least-direct route conceivable to Washington State)

larrysimpson, sorry to hear about the spill. Drink some wine and roast in the sun (if you can find any) until you are better.

Mark, yeah, that area of SA will have to wait. For now, I'll be content will the hot southern US girls!!!!!

I am on my third boring day of body mending in a backpacker hostel in Cordo ba..at least the delayed reaction from the impact with the Bolivia road allowed me to make it this far. I am drinking wine right now, and popping iboprofen for pulled muscle in back (from putting upright again my loaded bike). Good news is the sore ribs and knee much better. Hope I can get out of here tomorrow to BA. Have to decide if shipping to TO (1800 quote, to TO) or riding through Brazil up to Colombia.

Say hi to Javier and Sandra for me, and let Javier know I think it's going to be way hot in the Copper Canyons by the time he and/or I get up there.

If your in Cordoba, check out Villa Carlos Paz! Nice town on a river with cheap hotels and plenty to do and see. It's just a few miles away and a very popular weekend vacation spot. I though I read your in BA now though.
