Mexico to Guatemala

I am currently in Zipolite heading to San Christobal most likely early tomorrow morning for a day or two. Possibly Palenque for a day but that is not for sure. I am heading to Lake Autitlan for sure and would like to meet up with some more riders for the boarder crossing and possibly to continue riding with for a while. Eventually headed to South America but not on any real time line. I am riding a klr and riding solo, let me know if any one is around and heading the same direction.

I went through the border at Cuatemoc MX/LaMesilla GT about 5 weeks ago, on the highway between San Cristobal and Quetzaltenango. Super easy, you can park your bike right in front of the offices, the bike is only out of your site for a couple minutes, so I wouldn't be too worried about having a buddy for the crossing.

I am in San Pedro on Lake Atitlan until Friday, if you want to stop here. Xela is worth spending some time in though, to adjust to the Guatemalan vibe. San Cristobal to Xela is doable in a day, including the border crossing.

I agree with Andy. I am in Antigua , but moving on tomorrow. Easy crossing and never more than about 5 meters from the bike.

Andy, I'm leaving Reno to head town to San Pedro La Laguna around 26 Nov. Should be there the second week of December.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
