Anyone riding Spain/Morocco in Sept/Oct2013?

Hi everyone! I'm new here and am planning to do my first trip to Spain and Morocco around the end of September and into October and, maybe November.
I ride a 2012 Honda XR650L and I am experienced. I however have zero experience in the shipping of the bike, overland travelling and, honestly I speak no Spanish and even less French. I've been in touch with the company for shipping the bike and it seems easy enough......anyone want to "update" me on if I'm correct or, dreaming.
I love to ride solo but, on and adventure like this I would very much appreciate having people to ride with some of the ways at least.
ANY help with ANY issues ANYONE sees with this trip I would love to hear.
Will I be F U C _ _ D with not having language skills? I have translator on my iphone.....it's a pain in the ass but, a lifesaver too.
I was planning on using hotels, camp grounds and roadside camping for my accommodations.
I am intimidated and excited all at once.....I have to be in Spain for business.....so, no matter, I'm going.....and being there just a few weeks ago....my heart died for my Honda......I just need to get it on the plane.....and my trip is "Golden"......
Thanks everyone and I must say that I love reading everyones stories and can't wait till I have some of my own!!!
I'll be looking forward to any and all replies.....

Hi Gee,
I'm planning a 2 week jaunt from the UK to Morocco via Spain in October (ferry from UK to Santander on 20th October, returning on 2nd November). As I only have a couple of weeks off work, I'm planning on getting to Morocco asap and spending the time there. I'd be happy to meet up with you to ride some of the way. I'm just getting back into a bit of adventure biking after a long time away from it, and will be taking my KTM 950 Adventure. Don't worry about not speaking the language - English is widely spoken in most countries, and when its not you can go a long way with the few words in the back of a guidebook and a bit of pointing. It usually works out in the end and after all its part of the adventure!

Cheers, Andy

first contacts.....NICE.

Hi Paul and Andy......thanks so much for your replies!!
I think that I would be very close to your scheduling Paul.....I am free from business after sept 22nd.....it'd leave me 13 days to tool around before we would meet. Cool.
What are your plans for Morocco Paul? Ripping through, or taking in the sights a little? I know you're headed to Africa......very cool.

Andy....I'm not sure if we would cross paths or not......see, I have about 6- 9 months to kill.....not sure if I will stay 3 months in Morocco or, shorter and head to China/Vietnam.....but, never the less.....I should still be there the only thing I'm thinking is that we might pass as you're coming south and I'm headed back to Spain......hmmm.....guess we will play it by ear......

thanks guys....peace for now!!

Hi Gee
Plan on returning to Morocco (3rd time) mid Sept for a week or 4 , as much off road as poss as before..... here take a look

http://adventurebikerider.com/forum/...oes-maroc.html

Anyway there'll be 2 or 3 of us Me DR650, Shan KTM 690 and maybe Andy Dakar 650 and we'mm be getting as far south as poss quick !!! DESERTS AND MOUNTAINS

Stay in touch and hopefully we can hook up.

ps we all live in France (and speak French !!! handy in Maroc) and me and Shan often go over the mountain while Andy goes round and it works fine , all of us are open to spliting up and doing our own thing without anyone spitting their dummy out.

Probably wrong dates and location, but I'm riding from Devon, via the Portsmouth - Santander ferry from 25th Oct to 3rd Nov roughly, then riding the Bardenas Reales Desert, Aragon, Navarra & Pyrenees route(Vibraction road book 10). I've got the whole 1200 route tracklogged. Nothing too tricky, as a couple of lads on 990's rode it. I'll be on my KTM 690
