Anyone in Nicaragua and heading south?

Hi,

I just crossed into Nicaragua and am heading south to catch a boat from Panama to Columbia end of May or early June. I think that I might have missed most of the bikers being a bit of a slow poke.

But if anyone is around and fancies riding together for a while it would be nice to have the company. And also to share rooms with in Costa Rica as I have heard it is a bit more expensive than the rest of Central America.

All the best,
Annette

When you're in Costa Rica, don't forget to pop in to the German Bakery by Lake Arenal run by Tom. Its a wee bit touristy, but try and pop in after the lunchtime rush and Tom might take you out on the lake in his speadboat if you're lucky.

There was also a really nice thermal baths (called Eco Thermales) near Fortuna by the volcano, wee bit pricy from memory, maybe $20 or so. However it did have a bar that worked on an honesty system...

Personally, I'd avoid San Jose city if you can as we didn't really enjoy it too much.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
