Anyone in Central America?

Currently in Belize and heading down to Panama over the next 2 months. Not seen another bike in the past 2 months. Is anyone else out there and fancies meeting up for a and some riding?

Oh yes, I'll be going. Will get to Bogota for the end of June but will have to return to the UK until September. In September I'm back on the road down the west coast.

Anyone up for that as well?

Cheers Rene - look forwrd to that wherever and whenever that might be.

Hope to meet up with some other travel bikers in the space of the next year! Am beginning to believe that the site is one big hoax and that the pictures are all made up on photoshop.

Hasta luego!

Yep, it's a hoax...

Just for interest, our experience in the pre-internet days:

We rode Mexico and Central America, New Zealand, Aus, then Europe, Africa, and a month in South America before meeting our FIRST (other than ourselves!) long distance biker, 4 months before the end of our rtw tour. Greg Frazier in Rio Gallegos, then a week later 10 or so more in Ushuaia.

There are so few of us that unless you get to the main meeting points at the right time, like Panama, Ushuaia, Goa and a few others, it's easy to miss everyone.

keep us posted and you'll meet someone sooner or later!

It is no hoax. I am just finishing a 4 month ride from Canada to Panama. I´m in Panama City now for a few more days, the bike flys out on Monday night to Montreal. I met riders in San Diego, Baja, Mexico and Guatemala. I rode with one other rider through El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua and most people I met had visited the website. We´re out there, see you on the road.

Doh! Does nobody like the rainy season on something? Wet roads, wet clothing, wet everything. Think about the savings on the tyre wear.

Hope it was not too wet down south. Still reckon it's a hoax!

Oh - you have NO idea! 7 hours in the driving rain from San Jose to Golfito, over the Pass of the Dead (3352m). Third gear, mountain passes and rain make a nasty combo. Its sunny today, making a break for Panama. Cheers.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
