You may meet up with this guy:
http://www.worldrider.com/ He's currently in Sucre resurrecting his bike (F650 Dakar). He's probably best contacted from his ADVRider blog: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...=88518&page=39 |

Hi People, I am in La Paz Argentina at the moment gently meandering south towards the Valdes and Paine national park. Look out for an old
drinker on a rapidly ageing R1200GS. Ride safe.

Any of you ridden the Death Road to La Paz? I just saw a TV show about it, and for some reason, it's an attractive idea. It's the challenge, I suppose.

The road is actually in much better shape than other gravel roads I have ridden this trip. The drop offs can be intimidating of course, but it would be no problem on a motorcycle. The amazing thing is that you lose over 3600m of elevation in 65km, and 6km of the road is uphill, so it is really more than that. From snowcapped mountains to jungle in that distance, highly recommended.
