Anybody in Salta, Argentina at moment??? - Horizons Unlimited

Hola all,
I am just outside Salta, I was going to go north to Bolivia but have been told road not passable, so I am thinking of crossing into Chile via ruta 52 and then up into Bolivia. Is anybody going that way or has maybe just done this route.

This is clearly a bit late, but incase you're still in the area i'm pretty close to San Pedro De Atacama right now and i'll be crossing into Bolivia in the next couple of days.

I'll probably head to Uyuri across the salar if it's not too cold this time of year, and then i'll be weaving my way up to La Paz... give me a shout if you're around and you wanna cross together.

If not, how was the salar? Any tips on a good route into the country? What do you recommend mate... And did you have and trouble with the bike and the altitude, etc etc...
