Antwerp to Cape Town and back:start dec 2011

Hi all you HUBBers,

A few days ago I decided to drive my Yamaha ténére around Africa and I will start this little trip as soon as december 2011. You can read the motivation here:
Africa Full Circle

Around the 12th of dec I will take the ferry from Sete in France to Nador. I will traverse Morocco in just a week (I was there already 3 times) and then make sure I'm in Mali on the 8th of Januari as I'll meet up with a friend. From then on it will be more relaxed. Another 3 months to SA arriving around april and then up the east coast in another 5 months, arriving back home before winter 2012. These periods are ofcourse preliminary, only thing I'm sure about is when I'm leaving.

Are any of you on that route? I know of 2 other Belgians, but they are a couple of months ahead of me.
I will be traveling alone on a bike, but it would be great to team up for the more difficult stretches, even with overlanders in a 4x4.

Wish me luck and maybe we'll meet somewhere on the road, beer's on me!

West Africa

Hey Tony,
I watched some of your West Africa videos, looked like an incredible trip! I'm living in France at the moment and I was also thinking of making a trip to Africa when I'm done here, sometime around the 12-14 of December. I only have about 45 days available to travel, but was looking to make it possibly as far as Dakar. I will also be biking it alone. Could be worthwhile to meet up or do some traveling. Cheers

Hey Mason,
sorry for the late reply, I lost track of this topic. If you arrive in Morocco, send me a mail (contact details on my blog), then we'll see if it's possible to meet up. At the moment I am in contact with about 4 people that all are on the same route but all traveling a few days apart. It's gonna get busy in Morocco.
See you on the road, take care,
Tony
