Looks like most people are leaving before me. Anyone starting from US/Canada around July or August. I may ship my bike to Seattle in July head to Alaska and then turn south for New Years in del Fuego.

I attended the Copper Canyon meet back in October in a Jeep Wrangler with my two dogs and now have a van with two dogs. A real return to the bike world will have to wait for now. I've been travelling around the US for the last year after 12 years living overseas. I'm planning on heading to Costa Rica about the beginning of June and would love to meet up with people, carry extra gear etc. I tend to camp in out of the way places, which may or may not appeal to some. I have no route yet and don't really plan to make one till the last minute, though I do know I'll be going through LA at some point. Please add me to the 'going south' list. Or wave me down. White chevy van with a HorizonsUnlimited round sticker on the back!

Yolanda and I plan on continuing our trip to Tierra del Fuego by the end of October. We plan on shipping the 1150gs adv to either Colombia or Ecuador. It would be great to meet up somewhere on the road...

We live in Laguna Beach between LA and San Diego. Let us know when you're in the area.

Hello to the now numerous bikers potntially involved in this trip!I hope this finds you all very well.In particular to Pirelli-may I join your mailing list?I have left a reply to Bilous post explaining my situation but,in brief,it is that I also want to make this trip but a more likely arrival date in AK. will be July/Aug.This seems to coincide more with J.Sherm and Homero?Ultimately I would like to ride with you all for the whole trip if that was possible, but we shall see.Look forward to receiving an itinerary and hope replying to two posts will not confuse issues!Hope fully I'll be able to meet up with some of you somewhere.Sounds like it really could be great.Best Wishes,Rob

Don't worry too much about the exact date. I guaranty you that nothing will go exactly as planned. If too many of us ride together there may be other problems. We'll bound to meet each other on the road or at HU meetings and have fun telling each other how the trip went.

I probably cannot leave NY before July 1. I am think that July 4 +/- will be my independence day! If you want to coordinate with me send me an email.

I've been working on an itinerary over the last couple of weeks and the more I tried to pin it down, the more I realised that I needed more time!
I think that after a couple of weeks on the road, anything's possible, so it's probably just a theoretical exercise anyway. I may pull the departure date back into June however, and New Year's in Ushuia is sounding pretty good.

Robak, JSherm and all

I hate to admit this, but this message board thing has become more confusing than helpful in some ways.

Also, I haven't been as religious at checking the site to see peoples postings.

I think JSherm is right about too many people per group. But I figure that as long as people want to meet up in Alaska, it shouldnt be to complicated to org. there and meet at dif. points along the way.

I have essentially become part of Bilou's group, but we are all quite independent people and have maintained that we will go until it becomes a hinderance to see or do what we want to. I doubt that such free spirits will have trouble agreeing on whether to go "left or straight", but at least we always have the liberty.

Most importantly, I think that beyond the companionship what we all want most is security while on the road. So as long as everyone keeps that in mind, I think our group will alway be open to those who wish to ride for safety.

For future ref. please feel free to email me directly.

Ride hard!

I am reconsidering departing this year. I happened to be in Buenos Aires and met some people at Javier's place. They all agreed that 6 months for a Alaska to Tierra del Fuego trip was too fast. I do not want to do this trip just to say I did it and I think I may postphone the trip (again). For those counting, this will be my third postponement. I am now thinking of leaving around April/May of next year. Anyone else interested in leaving around that time please send me an email.

Hello to everybody in this tread.

I'm planning on departing early August, first up to Alaska (provided there are no delays on starting date), and then south to Mexico and Central America (flying from Panama to Caracas )then south linking Manaus to Porto Velho by boat, from there to southern Peru then to Bolivia and Argentina.
I'm ok riding by myself, but I also will be happy to meet fellow travelers that will be on the road by the same time to share info or even (if we happen to coincide) some leg of the trip.
I plan to be in Argentina by the end of December, but this and the itinerary could be modified if something interesting comes up on the way.
So... to Bilou and Pirelli, please include me in your mailing lists since, even though you'll be departing earlier, we might still meet somewhere down the road.
Anyway I'll start a new tread to conect people departing south by September/October.
Anybody interested please feel free to contact me directly by mail.

regards, Fabio.
