Bubba on the Mauritanian border recommended Mamm'dou in Rosso who tuned out to be a complete shark! Hopefully you got a better steer.

This may be too late but I'm staying at the Zebrabar 20km outside St Louis... a great place to recover! I'll be heading into Dakar on Sunday to get my Guinea visa on Monday.

If we don't meet up today, let me know where you end up and I'll try to track you down. Otherwise I'll be in the cafe behind the Hotel de la Poste in St Louis at 4pm tomorrow... it has internet!!

Great photo Gee, wish I was there. Enjoy Mauritania and look out for the guys who want to help you at Roso, they are all cheats and dont let them tell you about inport duties on old vehicles, if you can try do everything yourself and if you use assistance do NOT give them your passport and drivers licence, tell them you will go with them and give the papers. And once across the river it is very easy to do it yourself, but if they have ypur papers they ask for more money before giving it back to you.
if you look at my message to Charlie you will see my Senegal number, call if you have questions.
Cheers JC

A bit more relaxed now JC and I are away from Rosso... on the beach near Lac Rosa, the previous finish line of the Paris-Dakar!

Hi Guys.

I set off from England on a little Honda c90 last September. I'm stranded in Accra at the moment as the Benin embassy here 'lost' my passport and its looking like it may take about 4 weeks until all that's sorted out - so I will probably be heading off again beginning of may.

I would quite like to do Nigeria with some company so if anyone thinks they'll be going through at around that time let me know.

Also... anyone fancy going through DRC, Kinshasa to Lubumbashi? That's my plan.

All the best,

Liam and c90 around the World

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
