AFRICA - South to North - Cape Agulhas to Cap Blanc OCTOBER 2008 to JANUARY 2009

Too much pressure :(from everyone about doing it on my own...

Who wants to hook up with me? Even for any part of the way (esp Algeria)

On a low budget,:nono: camping and cooking most of the way where possible.

I'm leaving early September 2008 and taking 4 months to get to Tunisia using the following route:

South Africa
Botswana
Namibia
Angola
DRC :nono:

Congo
CAR
Cameroon
Nigeria
Niger
Algeria
Tunisa

I'm on an '84 34L Tenere. :scooter::thumbup1:

I'm 33, South African and British passports and very well travelled (Africa and the globe).
If you want to know more about me, I'll mail you my book (ManicMissions) about travelling through 10 countries (on public transport) in as many weeks. send an email to manicmissions [a....t] gmail [d-t-c-m] and you'll get the pdf.
I'm in Cape Town and happy :D:thumbup1:to meet any locals for a nice ride in the mountains...

If you know anyone around these parts, please send them my way.

As to where I go from Tunisia - I don't know yet. RTW :mchappy:would be great, but I'm sick of planning that far ahead. If I have the energy, I'll continue to Scandinavia, and then follow LWR then down to TDF and back home (a few years later...)

Upto date website for u

Hey man good on u , Going alone is the best . I just finished off my trip , well time sure flies , now 7 months ago from London to Cape town on my own , just the basics and no gps . road a 1984 yamaha tt600 top to bottom without any breakdowns even after a hecktic accident in ethiopia she's still went on all the way down . Good girl . East coast though , much easier than west coast . Check out this website of mike and ruby , i met them at the ferry in egypt and stayed together in wadi hafi sudan till the bikes arrived on the cargo ferry the next day . Had to leave them behind ,they were heavely overloaded and i was in a hurry . They have a great website with all the answered you need and are now backup in camaroon somewhere .

Welcome to Ruby's and Mike's Website

Currently back here where i planned my first trip from and now just going thru the motions and slowly putting another trip together , this time the west coast , possibly even backup the east side . Wifes going to ****ing flip when she gets word of this again .

cheers for now , keep us updated with any strange news .
