africa nov 2002 down west, up east coast
 

currently making preparations to travel around africa on a honda dominator, i should be leaving the netherlands around nov and passing equatorial africa before may.

the planned route at the moment is;

maroc, mauritainie, mali, (possible guinea), cote d'ivoire, ghana, togo, benin, niger, chad, cameroon, gabon, congo and possible through angola to namibie circumstances permitting otherwise whil ship and sa. the route back on the east coast is still not clear at the moment...

Hi, Frank and DJ, I am in Turkey at the moment heading for SA down the East Coast, head for Syria in three days time, will be ahead of you but may be able to give up to date information, I was in Transylvania a month or so ago, shame we didn't meet up. Stayed at Sighisoara and Sibiu in that region. Cheers Chris and Gill and a 1986 BMW R80G/S. Sorry that this has nothing to do with the original post but hey, we may meet up as you head North and I head South. The bike is white and heavilly overloaded.

yeah, no worries that would be cool to meet up. Pretty quiet with bikes at the moment just campervans.... Im in southern Marocco at the moment... Are you going through Nigeria or around?

I was going to go around but now it looks like I'll be in that region during the saharan summer, so I'm planning on going through Nigeria and under the sahara - through Benin, Togo, Ghana etc. Cheers
