Vladivostok to London (late June start)

Hi there, I will be arriving in Vladivostok during first week of July on my way to London via Mongolia (F650 Dakar). Happy to meet anyone along the way as I'm not that keen on talking to myself for weeks on end. Have given myself a time limit of three months which should be more than enough. Have a general route but will take it as it comes.

We are two Aussies (Triumph Tigers) doing the East to West route as well starting in Seoul on the 6 May and going slower than you (taking 6 mths).

At this stage plan to be in Mongolia when you are heading off from Vlad.

We are thinking about CA/ Turkey and then up the Adriatic Coast into Europe.

Would be very happy to keep in contact and see if we can meet up somewhere.

My e-mail address is on my profile.

Cheers

I expect to leave Magadan mid-late June or early July and will eventually ride into Mongolia, perhaps we'll see each other out there. I hope to find another rider who is taking the same route from Magadan.

I would consider starting out from Magadan if I can get my bike there without too much of a hassle.

Newfoundland to Ireland

Hi:

I am seriously planning a trip from Newfoundland to Ireland this year.
My rough schedule at this point is to start out mid-May and arriving in Alaska the first week in June, for final preparations.
My tentative route is through the Kamchakta peninnsula, Mongolia, Kahzakstan, Russia, Ukraine, western Europe , England & Ireland. This leg of the trip will run from late June through to mid-September. The idea is to wait until the ice and snow melt has finished with the rivers having subsided with far less mud.

I rode a bike in Europe for 7 years.

I am currently in Ecuador on my ride from Canada to TdF and eventually Buenos Aires which should conclude mid-March. This trip has taken me through 7 Canadian provinces and 38 United States as a warm-up. Then it was covering 70% of Mexico before riding south through Central America and continuing onto Colombia.

I look forward to hearing from other bikers who may wish to meet up and ride a part of both this and the proposed trip with me.

Adios Y nos vemos!!

I am planning to ride from Vladivostok to Ukraine into Poland and eventually reach Amsterdam where I can ship my bike to the US. I was thinking to stay in Russia until I reached Ukraine. I would like to follow the Trans Siberian Highway for most of the route. Maybe we could ride together until you head for Mongolia?

For BRETT DEAN

Brett,

How did or how will you get your bikes to Korea? Presumably you are going to ferry your bikes to Vlad, would love to hear of your experiences and a rough costing.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
