world shortage of tyres for adventure bikes????
 

greets... i have called the entire phone book of bm and other dealers around the johannesburg area looking for a rear tyre for my 1200gs, and have been told that no, there are no michelins, no there are no metzelers, yes there are a few pirellis and continentals around.... and no no one knows when there will be supplies available.... "There is a world wide shortage of tyres for adventure bikes," said one dealer...
I understand this neck of the woods is very popular with gs and other orange bikes, but wondering if you guys (and gals) are experiencing the same problem????

No problems in the UK yet!

Had problems in Spain looking for Michelin TW's about a month ago. I spent 3 weeks looking for them and ended up buying cheaper tyres (Vee Rubber) to tide us over until we can get what we want. That said, for cheap tyres they are performing really well.
