Was it You?

In September 2004 I went to Peru. Backpacking I must say. Around the 10th / 20 Sept (sorry can't remember better!) we spent a couple of nights in Puno in a hotel in the centre. There was a British (number plate) overland bike in the lobby. The next day we went to visit the floating islands and when we came back that evening, the bike was gone. We never got the chance to meet the biker. At the time, I was just starting vaguely to think about riding around south America. 2 months later, through someone at work, I found Jeremy Bullard website. And suddenly I discovered that my plan was not such a crazy idea after all! At least 2 guys doing it already! That was before I found the HU site!

Somehow, I never forgot about that bike... In a way it fed my dream....

Any idea who it could have been? I can't remember the bike model. But I remember clearly one off-road spare tyre tied at the back! :)

Weirdly, that may well have been Jeremy Bullard's KTM that you saw. There was a gang of us in Cusco, all on Brit-plated bikes, all heading up to Puno and across to Copacabana between the 10 and 20 of September 2004. Wasn't me, I parked in a car park and didnt have a lashed down spare - wasn't Dick and Jane cause, also no spare. I reckon it was Jeremy. Email him.

Suerte, Dan

Cool!

Thanks Dan I will! It may have been a KTM. Definitely not a Beemer.

Small world! :cool4:
