very bad shipping experience

hi all
i want to make my story short
in my last trip in Africa had to end it in Kenya and ship the bike due to visas problems
so i left my bike with a very bad bad bad shipping company in Nairobi
they came to were im staying saw the bike check it and measure it and gave me a cost of 1420 $
i paid and took an invoice of that and i wanted to ship it back home to Alexandria
and they told me it will take 4 to 6 weeks
now here is my problem they told me that the bike by mistake went to Antwerp Belgium and i have to pay again to ship it to Alex
after phone calls and many emails
another answer is we are so sorry we wont charge you to get your bike from Antwerp to Alexandria but they made a mistake on the CBM of the bike
here is a copy of what they mailed me
I refer to Kemboi emails with regards to your shipment to both Abu Dhabi & Alexandria and wish to really apologize for the mistake in our quotation which was way under quoted. My colleague gave you quotations based on one cubic meter instead of quoting based on the actual total CBM for the motorbikes.

The money which you paid us is therefore not even sufficient to pay for the shipping line charges. Please note that there were other expenses e.g. packing & Crating, fumigation, transportation which were directly incurred by us

they made the same thing with my friend who shipped his bike to Emirates same day
now they are holding my Carnet de passage and also they are refusing to send me the Original of B/L (bill of loading ) and without it i have no chance to get my bike from Alexandria port ,
copy of what they mailed me

We will therefore really appreciate if you could make arrangements and settle the above outstanding balances. Refusing to pay or paying half the amount means that you actually want us to finance the shipping of your motorbikes to both Abu Dhabi and Alexandria. I am sure you are both gentlemen and this is not what you want. My colleague made a mistake but to err is human to forgive and do the right thing is divine.

I leave this to your judgment and would appreciate your response. Please note also that you are at liberty to contact Eculine and authenticate the said invoices.

last thing they mailed me is

Please note that we honor, appreciate and value you as our customer and we quite understand your sentiments below and whatever happened is regrettable and as mentioned earlier we have waived all our income and/or profits on this consignment as a sign of goodwill.

However our quotation was given to you under our normal terms and conditions of trade which states that “In the event of the actual details differing from the information provided, in any respect, the estimated will be regarded as NULL & VOID, as Seaways will not be responsible for any additional cost involved.

I regret to inform you that documents will only be dispatched after we have received the full payments of $ 647 in our account

they wanted 840 $ more after lots of bargain i get it to 647 $
any one have a solution ?
- is there any way to get my bike without the original B/L ( i have a PDF copy they sent me earlier )

- if i send them the money how i can trust that they wont ask me for more money as its all monkey business ?

have to say that 4 to 6 weeks shipping is now is 12 weeks and my bike will may come on the 5th of may if they even put it in the container !!!

hope i explained my problem in a good way
i really feel that i want to hurt some one very bad : hammer:

good luck and I hope you learned out of this.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
