Unleaded info

This is a story I have difficulties to belive, but then again.... you never know.

Not likely, but nevertheless it indicates that finally there is a changes to take place, and sometime soon we dont have to cut out the CAT anymore.

Maybe not. I just heard another report on the BBC World Service claiming sub-Saharan Af is now all lead free, with pressure on the North African countries (many of whom produce the stuff and are relatively wealthier) to comply.

Still seems incongruous tho'...

Yes South AFrica and Namibia are now unleaded compliant although you will still be able to buy red petrol at certain petrol station. If the gov cut out ALL leaded petrol the taxi industry for one would grind to a halt and many taxi's are pre '90.
There are still far too many people reliant on old cars, and who can't afford to replace them, to simply refuse to supply red petrol. another decade maybe yes. This mainly cam about as a result of SA realising their commitment to the Kyoto agreement.

What is always positively amazing is how these and similar measures are put into place by the governemnt without political tinkering. Maybe the US can learn from this i.e acceptance of global warming and stop playing games with the worlds future.
