Turkey: How to get insurance to pay?

Hi all,

About 18 months ago I had an accident in Turkey. A car tried to do a U-turn in front of me. He didn't make it... A clear case of "Sorry, officer, I didn't see him." I wasn't hurt much, but my bike needed emergency repairs to allow us to continue to travel.

The drivers' insurance has agreed to pay, but been dragging its feet for the last year and a half. They keep making strange demands for documents, etc. The latest is that they will only pay in person or into a Turkish account!

Does anybody know what my rights are in Turkey?

Can anybody make a recommendation on how to pressure them to pay up? (Anybody know a Turkish lawyer?)

Salut from Southern France, the bikers' paradise,

Peter.

My girlfriend (who's Turkish) and I are going to Turkey over the holidays. If you send me an email with more information about your case, she's offered to try to help when we get there (where is the insurance company located? there name?). Worse case we can recommend a lawyer. Please use email address in my profile.

Hi ;

Can you give me the contact numbers and the person whom you have been in touch, from that insurance company etc., just send all the info all info that you can.

I am a turkish citizen myself with a good lawyer, friends in some insurance companies and good contacts with motorcyle clubs. Let see what we can do and we will do everything what we can.

You can get in direct touch with me through my e-mail in my profile.
