Tubeless puncture repair?
 

Travelling for the first time beyond the reaches of the 5 star AA cover(!)and am looking for advice on that nightmare scenario...'the puncture in the middle of nowhere'.

Bike, rider, passenger and equipment are well prepared...new tyres fitted but what's the best way of dealing with a puncture? I've religiously carried my repair kit around on trips but never had to use it.Can you ride on normally once a repair has been made? Should you cancel your plans and limp home at 30 mph?!...Is all lost?!

I'd be grateful to here of anyone who's been...'in the middle of nowhere' with a Tubeless puncture.

(this is actually from a long-time car driver, I was only recently converted to the two wheel kind of guy)

I recently bought a dedicated set of materials to repair punctures in tubeless tires. It costed me some EUR 70 but in exchange for that I got glue (cement kind of stuff), a special tool to roughen the hole, a special tool to insert the repair strip and some 25 of those repair strips.

If you look carefully you can find the materials in specialised car-parts shops (as I discovered afterwards) and probably for much less. They will also sell you the stuff to fix you inner-tubes when necessary.

I once had this done to one of my car-wheels, it still lasts (up to 225 km/hour) so it's absolutely reliable. We are going to travel Amsterdam to Cape-Town soon and I will cherish this set during the whole trip.

Fixing a tubeless is very very simple.
The kit moppie mentioned above is a reliable and quick solution. I used it on my BMW while in the sahara, and it worked good. I recommend you spare a morning besid a tire repair shop and practice the method on a used tire, that's what I did, and when it happened it was easy like filling gas.
carry an inner-tube in case the hole is to big to fix.
What's more important is to take a fist size electric air pump it will really make it all a game.

Now where do I get a fist sized electric pump? I saw a cylinder head pump in the aerostich catalogue.Anyone tried them out?

You do not have to shoot so high (aerostich)A fist size pump (or a bit bigger one) can be found in any big car accessory shop.
it is usually made in the far-east, it's around 20$ (here in Israel) the one I have is 5 years old and works very well.
