Training Camp - Spain or Souther Europe - reccomendations appreciated

Firstly; Apologies if this sort of communication exists on here - I'm a relative noob and have searched but cant find... could be a wood for trees... anyway, feel free to post a link to point me in the right direction :)

Secondly; Hey there - am looking for a late season (now - end Nov) holiday / training session in southern Europe... not fussed where, but Spain seems logical and cost effective. Looking for lightweight adventure / enduro style riding over 4-5 days. Definitely want to cover ground rather than simply staying put on a circuit but would ideally like both combined - skill development and travel.

Looking for a fly in fly out scenario - all gear supplied. Would happily travel as part of a group or make my own way - open to ideas and recommendations - if you have first hand experience even better!

I look forward to hearing form you.

Thanks.

Braddan.

Austin Vince appears to be doing something along the lines of what you want with the exception of providing a bike, but that's probably possible somehow. Have a look at the thread entitled "Austin Vince" on today's posts.

Will check it out...

off road course

I did the BMW off road course in Germany but that was just over one day. A very quick search of google (enduro riding spain) brought up dozons of operators doing what you are looking for. Have you tried that yet? I cant vouch for them as I have not used any but here are just a couple of what I found.

Thanks Quandary... I did start with google but, like you found more than I could shake a stick at. Some very 'glossy' some very home spun. Knowing that the homespun one in many cases may be better than the bells and whistles, I hoped some HU types may have some advice. Appreciate the links though! Will check em out :thumbup1:

Spain is certainly a favoured option with the offroad riding businesses, but it has been reported in the various press that the Spanish authorities are clamping down on vehicle use of their national parks; no doubt, they can find other trails to ride, but their routines may be a bit disrupted because I understand that many have used those national parks for riding.
It is my impression that these training schools have grown in number over the past few years and some are dedicated to particular brands of bike (therefore sponsored by them to some degree?).

I haven't done any of these schools/tours so I can't add to that list, but you could look at the Morocco forum where there are some ideas about hirng and riding there.

Hummm Morocco - nice idea Walkabout... will investigate. If anyone is interested I have been in comms with Redtread and they look pretty decent - they don't mention the parks closing but they do raise other providers who aren't authorised. Ill let you know what I end up doing... watch this space :)

Update

After googling etc it seems that Redtread are indeed one of the better groups out there. They certainly market themselves well and have plenty of positive feedback both through their own website and third part sources.

I am now booked for an impromptu trip. 3 days for £490 inc. training / accom / breakfast / lunch and local insurance. Repatriation insurance, evening meals, transfers and flights extra.

Easyjet to Malaga £105, Insurance £35 dinner E15 per night at the lodging.

£700 all in.

Seems ok to me... interaction with teh company so far... great!

I'll whack up some pics and feedback when I get back if anyone is interested! Cheers for now. Braddan.

I've just had a days training with Steve at TOURATRAIL - Offroad Trail tours Spain - Enduro Training Courses. Off-road Motorcycle trail bike riding holidays

Had a fantastic day covering 115km (it was my first time trail riding so I think thats pretty far). The instruction was great for me as a beginner but he has a wealth of knowledge for experienced riders too.

I only called him up two days before as I was travelling through the area on my way to Morocco and he had no problem fitting me it.

he's a vid of a ridge climb he took me up at the end of the day.

ridge climb Andalusia - YouTube

They can do a fly in fly out or you can take your own gear.

Highly recommend them.
