Sourcing a Sheepskin in the UK...

Can anyone tell me where I can be a nice thick sheep skin in the UK ??

I remember a couple of years back, there was a link to a place on here where you could get a nice skin for £20.

I really don't want to have to buy a pink rug off Ebay for £40 !!

It was big enough for mine - but then what size is my backside!

Covered my drivers seat with no problem - hold it on with Velcro.

Hi Ted

Why not get one of these? I saw your envious glances many times and the £7 price tag should appeal to the scally in you!

Regards, Mick

Ahhhh.. Your vegetarian sheepskin LOL !!

Indeed, the price is tempting, but a chenille/taupe dreadlocked seat cover is best left to twig n' berry eaters

Looks good mate.. I used a sheepskin rug on my XT. I would suggest you cut it down a little as the bigger they are, the more aukward they are.

Also, if its just the skin underneath, sew a base onto it to prevent the skin from splitting. Once it splits it will run and your sheepskin will be in tatters.

Hi Ted,

I bought one off ebay a couple of years ago for £12 - £15 I think. Plenty big enough for my whole seat and still going strong. I had to be patient though, bid on about ten rugs till I got one for a reasonable price.

Matt

I'd get a much bigger one than just butt-size, which is more versatile. On the bike run it up from the seat onto the top box or bag as a back cushion, and during cold nights it can team up with your pad/therm-a-rest for a comfy sleep.

I picked a second hand one off Ebay for a tenner. Originally for a horse saddle so nicely cut and elastics too..

Cheers all.
