Shockabsorber in Morrocko

Hi

I am in Morrocko and a few days ago did the rear shockabsorber totaly broke down. After two days off funy growel roads the bike did go worse and worse. Then I stoped was oil all around the shockabsorber and after a few km more it did not work at all.

The bike are now jumping on the road and then passing a hole the bike are losing contact too the ground.

I did go to Fes and found a Honda repair shop and fort that the problem was gone but after two days of waiting and a lots of promisies about then the parts should arrive it appeard that he newer orderd any...

Instead I got "temporary fix" for 50 Dh. Sadly after just 90 km it is losing effect.

So. anyone who know there I can found a new one down here. I am going north to Spain in the end of this week or beginning of the next so it is not much time to send new parts.

Until it is done I have to drive slowly and just on good roads...

not much help...

but, I managed to ride all the way back to England from Timbuctoo with my shock absorber not working.
It broke about 100kms south of Timbuctoo and there was NOWHERE to get it sorted.
Also it was still under warranty- so I rode 7000kms - a bit uncomfortable, especially on the rough tracks of Mali and Mauritania.
A temporary repair in Morocco was to take the shock absorber off and pack the gaps between the springs with bits of tyre etc- it didn't look good but that worked pretty well:scooter:

good luck

Hi again!

Now I’m home in Sweden and back too work.

The solution was the easiest but maybe not the most comfortable. I just continued drive..

First I had emailed to a Swedish workshop and got the price 4000 sek. So then I arrived to Spain and Sevilla I visited a workshop I was surprised then they wanted 629 Euro just for the parts. I forth that if I had managed so far on bad roads in Morocco, I could continue on the good ones in Europe. So I left it with the bike in the same condition as I arrived and drived home..

Thanks Jens for the invitation but this weekend I need to stay at home.

Oskar
