Second Language
 

If one was to learn a second language for use on a world trip, which would be the most useful. I was thinking Spanish.

For South / Central America, and of course Spain, definitely Spanish but if you're going to North or West Africa, then it's French. In SE Asia, Vietnam is French, the rest are primarily English, unless you feel like learning Hindi or Mandarin...

A few words of the local language goes a long way we've found.
