Round The World ! What does that mean ?
Hallo all,
I have reading a lot about motorcycle traveling, and often I see the the RTW or Round The World, but many times there is no explanation of what that does mean. So my question is this: What is considered a Round-The-World tour ? Are there many routes around the world, or is just after certain km/miles you can say you traveled around the world, or is within some time frame or period of time ? What do you think ? Sverrir

To me there can't be a rigid answer as there is no way to head off from a point on the globe going east and arrive back from the west having crossed the equator twice using a bike.
I think to claim RTW you should have ridden on at least three continents, gone roughly east to west or west to eat, crossed the equator and international date line (you have to fly that one to be practical) and ridden more miles than you flew, but who am I to say what is or isn't. Andy |
